PETITION TO THE HONOURABLE MEMBERS OF THE PARLIAMENT OF CANADA

June 22 - 24, 2009 York and Queens Universities will Sponsor an International Conference to promote The One State Solution. The "One State" solution is a euphemism for the destruction of the Jewish state - a trope of the most extreme rejectionist elements within the Palestinian movement and their allies in Syria and Iran. The goal of terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah is to create an Islamic Republic to replace the Democratic Jewish State of Israel.

It has come to the attention of the Jewish Defence League of Canada that Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, a Federal Government Department is a sponsor of the Conference, Israel/Palestine: Mapping Models of Statehood and Paths to Peace, which is contrary to official Government policy.

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED request the immediate withdrawal of Canadian Government sponsorship from the Conference, Israel/Palestine: Mapping Models of Statehood and Paths to Peace.

    • York University: Get on with educating students - not indoctrinating them into cults and conspiracies and promoting the Islamist propaganda agenda.

    • A Deceptive Campaign of Misinformation is being used to destroy the state of Israel. Universities are the new battleground being used by militant Islamic Academia to demonize Israel. Ethnic Cleansing- "Apartheid-"Collective Punishment are key words meant to deceive the public and undermine the genuine victims. Jews have been "Ethnically Cleansed" from their Arab homes all over the Middle East where they once lived for thousands of years. Jews are targeted indiscriminately by rocket and terrorist attacks in a "Collective Punishment", (amid the silence of York University). Palestinians have the right to live in Gaza-West Bank -Israel -and 70\% of Jordan is in fact Palestinian. When it comes to the Middle East, Jews have been "Segregated" and are effectively only allowed to live in Israel. Ironically it is Jews who are the real victims of 'Apartheid"

    • I have written the following to York U: In your preamble to the conference, the "Vision Statemen" here, you write: "The two-state vision has guided the peace process in Israel/Palestine since the Oslo Accords of 1993" This is simply not true. The two-state vision is much older - as old as 1920, when the Palestinian Mandate was divided into two states: Jordan and Israel: one for the Jews, one for the Arabs. In 1937, in the wake of the 1936 riots, the Peel Commission Report recommended further dividing the Jewish state into two parts; this was accepted by the Jewish Agency for Palestine and rejected by Palestinian Arabs. In 1948, the United Nations formalized its recognition of a two-state solution and recognized the state of the Israel and the right of minority religions to settle in the others' territory with full protection of religious, political and civil rights. This was met with a war to annihilate Israel, described in precisely those terms by the beligerent Arab states. Since then...

    • The current administration at York has a shameful anti semitic agenda. How sad that a university that started with such lofty ideals of tolerance has turned into a mouthpiece for partisan political groups.
