Dear Mayor Miller and Police Chief Blair,
While we respect the right of free speech and the right to protest and demonstrate in Toronto, we believe the Tamil protesters are crossing the line now that they have blocked a major highway. They are no longer peacefully protesting.

The loss of innocent life is sad indeed. And there are other ways to protest this in a lawful manner.

To add insult to injury, they are flying the flag of a Terrorist organization ( The Tamil Tigers ) in our streets. They are doing this while the men and women of the Canadian Armed Services are giving their lives fighting a war against terrorism.

We are asking that you enforce the law of the land and remove the protesters from our streets and require them to submit proper permit applications moving forward.

Please end this insanity and give the streets back to law abiding citizens in Toronto.

    • Any group of protestors who blatently break laws in the way the tamils have need to be dealt with immediately and promptly. These type of protests are going to become rampant if the police allow them to get away with it. Other special interest groups are definitely going to start using the same tactics that the tamils have been getting away with. A message needs to be sent, even if it requires force and a few injuries.

    • PLEASE END THE MADNESS. If you think this is bad, wait until OCAP starts with their rallys and uses the Tamil's as a template. I worry this city is bowing to ethic groups for fear of being labelled racists, however you still need to enforce the law.

    • These protests need to stop as they are affecting the day to day lives of the residents of the City. If they really want to help, give them a free one way ticket back there.

    • If the protestors are not punished, does that mean anyone with any issues can block a highway without being punished? Let's follow the rule and give every citizen the equal human rights!

    • Next time this happens, contain the crowd, and verify the citizenship of each and every Tamil. Anyone not legal should be immediately deported for participating in criminal activity, and never allowed to return to Canada.
