We ask the United States government to remove the words "In God We Trust" from its currency. Having money that said "In White People We Trust" or "In Mormons We Trust" or even "In Atheism We Trust" would be unacceptable. Why is the former allowed? The United States of America was founded on the belief that all should be able to choose their religion, and choose to be free of it.

    • Why do people believe Christianity? ....FEAR has to be amongst the top answer, if not the #1 answer. We all know after it (christianity) was edicted the official religion of Rome between 300 and 400 AD, what was Rome soon crumbled and was followed by roughly a thousand years of theocratic governance commonly known as the Dark Ages. The rule and practices of this horrendous era were diabolical. The burnings and torturings, the wars and the ongoing culling/killing of the best, the suppression of knowledge, fear to speak the truth or to deny this new religion(christianity) upon pain of death--- makes one wonder if it is possible these things could be embedded in our genes or our mental genome and passed on through the offspring from generation to generation therefore making us(in succeding generations) susceptible to believing the big lie? ..... • All references to "God" must be removed from our government. "so help me god" from oaths, "under god" from the pledge, etc.

    • The prior comments already provide a sufficient reason to remove "In Allah We Trust" from US money. Oh, wait! My bad! What was I thinking?!?! How on earth could I even remotely think that money should say "In Pigs We Trust" instead of "In Aliens We Trust"?!?!? Oh, Shoot! There I go again; I must be very confused; of course, it can't be the US government saying one thing and doing another now could it?!?!

    • Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion... Sound familiar? We respect your freedom to believe in any god you choose. Please respect our freedom to believe in none without having the concept pushed upon us. For you to insist on saying In God we trust is as intolerable as us demanding the text to read In no God we trust. We would never take away your rights in such a barbaric manner. All we want is equality by not favoring anyone.

    • As an american atheist i am tempted to leave this country due to the hate we are subjected to. A quote by President Bush Sr. reads "I don't know that atheists should be regarded as citizens, nor should they be regarded as patriotic. This is one nation under God." I understand that the first amendment allows free speech and the option to form your own opinion but this is ridiculous. He's using the first amendment to destroy it, Therefore i approve the removal of "in god we trust" from the american currency because this is not one nation under god. this is one nation under free thought.
