Dear Oklahoma State University International Alumni,
OSUMAS(Oklahoma State University Malaysian Alumni Society) has learned that OSU is studying the possibility of restoring its International Undergraduate Legacy Scholarship Program. The Program is to benefit the children and grandchildren of OSU alumni by allowing them to pay in-state (State of Oklahoma) tuition when they attend OSU.
An International Relations Committee Taskforce, under the auspices of the OSU Emeriti Association, is identifying the critical factors that would assist OSU in making a decision whether to restore the International Undergraduate Legacy Scholarship Program. OSUMAS is developing a petition that will list the top 2 or 3 factors that will have the greatest affect on whether alumni will decide to send their children to OSU. OSUMAS particularly would like to know to what extent will cost be a factor in your decision to send your child to OSU and if so where in the ranking of considerations (quality of education, safety of community, cost, distance from home, etc.) would you place the matter of cost in your decision making process. Please inform OSUMAS of all your opinions and comments as quickly as possible so we may e-mail you the finalized petition. You may of course add your personal comments to the petitions before forwarding it to the International Relations Committee. OSUMAS was encouraged to have the final petitions to the International Relations Taskforce by March 31, 2009. Please give high priority to this urgent request!
OSUMAS also would like to appeal to all OSU alumni living in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China, India, Taiwan and other countries to express their opinions and assist the International Relations Taskforce as it makes its presentation to the OSU administration.
So, to all Cowboys and Cowgirls your comments and opinions are needed and they may have an impact on our childrens futures.
Go Pistol Pete!
Thank you.
