We the undersigned would like to see the Peabody Essex Museum establish a permanent exhibit representing the goals of its founders. The East India Marine Society in their charter stated that members: collect "natural and artificial curiosities" from beyond the Cape of Good Hope or Cape Horn. We request that these curiosities from the world at large as well as Essex county and our country be brought out for display.
