PSP-3000 Playstation 2 Popstation Emulator

Remember when Sony released their amazing Playstation 1 emulator for their PSP firmware? This meant that through your Playstation 3 you could download Playstation 1 games and play them on your PSP.

The emulator is called Popstation. I propose an online petition after surfacing rumours of a third revison to the Playstation Portable being in development. The Sony Coders are brilliant at what they do and i'm sure to paid developer's a Popstation emulator in their new firmwares for the third PSP revision could possibly include Popstation support for PS2 Games.

This would certainly benefit Sony as it means that the dwindling PS2 will have some life rebreathed in it after the release of the "HD Console Era", not only that but it could also boost the sales of PSP Hardware and prolong the life of the machine.

To avoid piracy, Sony could take a similar approach as they did with the original Popstation, but enforce it stricter to avoid the code being cracked (as with the current Popstation). This will get legitimate owners of a Playstation 3 and a PSP to play some classic PS2 games, such as Final Fantasy X on the go. I believe this will be a great benefit to Sony after dwindling UMD will probably be a dead format soon and Sony will need ways to keep the PSP going, this could be such a way.

If sony increases the specs yet again of the new Playstation Portable, then a PS2 Popstation for the newest PSP Firmwares shouldn't be too much of a problem for Sony's coders to achieve.
