We, the undersigned taxpayers of Polson School District #23 (PSD23), find that the PSD 23 Board of Trustees have acted without regard for, and contrary to, the best interest of the school district by voting unanimously to NOT renew Kindergarten Teacher Ms. Carolyn Soods contract for the school year 2008-2009. As such, we, the undersigned, show our support for Ms. Sood as a teacher, and petition the superintendent and PSD #23 Board of Trustees to immediately renew Ms. Soods contract for school year 2008-2009.

    • We cannot afford to lose an innovative, seasoned elementary teacher. There are already enough elementary teachers leaving this District. Why was Ms. Sood the only teacher in the District not to have her contract renewed?

    • Is it throughly understood what happened to create this decision? This appears to be a political issue not a quality of teaching issue. As a parent, I am concerned that the board focus on quality of teaching, and ignore personal differences, as these serve to divide the community.

    • Please review Carrie's professional performance evaluation conducted by the school principal who reviews and sees her everyday performance. I ask you all to take the courage to reflect on this decision and base it on outcome assessment. Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
