RE: Powell Peralta Re-issues
We are a broad coalition of skaters: old school, new school, vert, freestyle and street skaters. We come from all backgrounds, all ages and all corners of the Earth. We are all proud fans of each of you both individually and collectively as the Bones Brigade of the 1980s. We are asking you - the addressees - for your help in making one of our wishes become a reality.
Many of us have purchased one, if not more, Powell Peralta re-issue decks manufactured by Skate One Corp. under the guidance of George and Stacy. Many of us have been able to re-live important moments of our youth by proudly standing on a re-issue of a Steve Caballero, Steve Steadham,Mike Vallely, Ray Barbee, Ray Underhill, Frankie Hill and Kevin Harris deck. Many of us own many copies of each of these decks for both skating and collectible purposes.
All of us however are suffering. We have a real void, a void that only you - the addressees - can fill, Many of our favourite decks have not been been re-issued by Powell-Peralta / Skate One, such as:
1) Tony Hawk "Chicken Skull / Iron Cross";
2) Tommy Guerrero "Flaming Dagger";
3) Lance Mountain "Future Primitive";
4) Rodney Mullen "Chess King"; and,
4) Per Welinder "Nordic Skull" both freestyle and street model.
We, the undersigned, respectfully ask and passionately plead with each and everyone of you to do something about this. We all understand that there are politics in skateboarding as there is in every industry. However, we ask that each of you try and put any political issues aside for the sake of us, the worldwide skateboard community and loyal fans of the Bones Brigade, so that these beautiful pieces of skateboarding's history can be shared, experienced and skated by the world once again.
We, the undersigned, can guarantee each of you that should you be so gracious to do your part in enabling the re-issuance of the above decks, we will be buying many, many of them. These decks will be hung on walls in bedrooms, living rooms and offices around the world. Most importantly, the decks will be ridden at skateparks, bowls, ramps, ditches, curbs streets the world over.
Please re-issue these decks!
