  • Anime gives children something to love and enjoy. It is like cartoons only for older children such as teenagers. If parents find anime unsuitable, then they need to keep an eye on what their -children- watch. I think teenagers should be allowed to watch anime because they are mature enough. A lot of children who do like anime are open-minded to new cultures. Isn't that what America promotes? Freedom of such-n-such? According to Amendment 9, I believe, we have rights other then what are stated in the constitution. Rights to express ourselves and be ourselves, and love what we want. We should be allowed to have anime. It is only the parents opinion where most find anime unappropriate for America's Youth. I respect that parents wish for the best for their children, but their children aren't babies. They know what's real and what isn't.

  • I cannot believe that people would think that a local art form would be called 'evil'... and it seriously offends me and others when Japan is called, 'Dark Japan.' Anime is simply an art form/cartoon form that many believe in, and I doubt that the president himself would simply ban anime because it is unwanted.

  • Direct your argument to the FCC not the president... As far as the ban goes I agree with you, I too am an anime fan, but the chance of the anime ban actually passing isn't very likely. Its just not a serious enough issue to even be considered by the FCC, and besides its not like anime is shown on television....least not most of it

  • I saw the other petition, what a joke. Let's ban every show that isn't G-rated too. Anime may be animated, but animated is not synomous with Disney. Like other forms of entertainment Anime has a rating system, if that's adiquate for live action films it's adiquate for Anime.

  • I love anime. I personally gave the ban supporters hell, using my real name! To me anime (with its soft romances) has stopped my deadly urges to destroy that were caused me being picked on. If they ban anime I'll never be the same again. Everyone was ignoring my problems, so I sought to find help for myself IT WAS CALLED ANIME! I WOULD TO THANK THE JAPANESE FOR THEIR WONDERFUL CARTOONS!   • Ok, it's not anime that is corrupting the minds of the youth of America, it's the current T.V. and movies that are doing it. I mean half the movies out nowadays have some relation to violence and sex. A lot of animes dont, a lot of animes have messages for kids and aren't all just violence and sex, like most people think. I mean, for me, I watch anime and read manga, I'm in all honors classes recieving A's and B's and have never drank underage or done drugs. HOWEVER, a lot of people who DO NOT watch anime or read manga have. I'm not saying that they ALL do it, but a lot do. There is no real reason to ban anime, however, I see a huge reason to take sex out of movies. On animes and mangas, there is a rating, like there is on all movies. HOWEVER, because of the curiosity of children nowadays, people ignore ratings on movies and SNEAK INTO THEM. The curiosity is NOT caused by anime, but it is caused by the current movies and T.V. shows available.
