We have started this petition because we strongly believe that Radio Merseyside have made a big mistake by changing "the late show" and replacing Roger Lyon. The previous show appealed to a wide range of listeners - male and female of all ages whereas the new show seems to be aimed at giggling school girls.
The current show feels as if it is aimed at women, its humour is very poor often drowned out by over acted laughing and previous listeners are leaving in droves to find other radio stations. There also seems to be a lot of underhand advertising creeping in which goes against BBC radio guidelines.
We want Roger back in his rightful spot, hosting the late show and thus returning the station back to a more credible status.

- As a regular listener to the now defunct Roger Lyon Late Show, I would like to see him back "on air" each evening, as he is a brilliant presenter and meets my listening needs very well indeed.

- The sooner Roger is back on his usual late night time slot the better! We have been deprived for too long! You want change, but there is only one Roger Lyon and we accept no substitutions!

- The new late show is a disaster. Please do your regular and loyal listeners a favour and bring back Roger Lyon - Linda MacDermott is far better suited to the news magazine slots.

- Please bring back Roger Lyon to the evening show where he was excellent. We are not interested in the inane chatter and hysterical laughter. Nor do we agree with the advertising creeping in.

- Please return the Late Show to it's original format and presenter - Roger Lyon. I am extremely unhappy with the programme as it is at present and find it unacceptable that it contains so much underhanded advertising, which is contrary to BBC policies

- I agree with the overall consensus here. Roger Lyon is an extremely personable, and well rounded presenter. His easy listening style is well suited to late night. Whereas Linda Mac's show is in complete contrast to the point of being irritating, Name dropping is advertising as far as I am concerned, isn't that a contravention of the BBC's charter? Roger Lyon is head and shoulders above the current show and he deserves to be reinstated, or I for one will switch off.

- Listening to Linda Mc and her "loose women" gal pals after a hard day at work just turns up the stress factor. I'm a woman but that doesn't necessarily mean that I want to listen to a bunch of bawdy, middle aged women talking over one another. It just gets my hackles up when the so called executives at RM think that this type of programming is what is needed! I know what worked for me and others feel the same way! His name is Roger Lyon and we want him back where he belongs please!!!

- When roger 's former late night show was axed to make way for Ms Macdermott & co. I was gutted. What a travesty and so unfair not only to us but to roger. He was unceremoniously dumped and for what?! hubble, bubble toil and trouble....nuff said!

- We were able to hear Roger's program over here and enjoyed it enormously, Having appeared onhis program while visiting Liverpool a couple of years ago I feel very sad that the BBC decided to axe it. I have read and heard many comments about how he is missed. Listeners are very important so please can he resume his original spots

- I agree with all that has been written about the show that took over from Roger Lyon. they are a gaggle of women who seem to be trying to out do one-another, each one not letting the other person speak, then you get the sreaming and high pitched laughter which grates through the ears. being a women I thought that radio merseyside was giving us something different, but after I listend for about five minutes i could not take anymore and had to switch off. when you have had a tiring day the last thing you want to hear is screeching women. Roger Lyon gave a good show and the guests that he had on were very interesting, he knew how to put together a programme and the music he played was more of a relaxing sound. Bosses shoulkd listen to the ordinary man and women in the street as it is the likes of the little people who keep them in employment. If Radio Merseyside does not take notice then the radio station will go as a lot of business have gone - to the great devide.

- I no longer listen to merseyside during the week.the abomination which has replaced the Roger Lyon Late Show is an assault on the ears and the only thing missing is a cauldron for the ladies to sit around. Lets face it Linda Mac is wasted on that type of programe return to the "status quo" and please everybody.

- Used to listen to Roger to wind down after a hard days work. Tried Linda's show - not her fault but would have to listen to that content in afternoon / early evening for it to work for me. I read a book to unwind instead now. Bring back Roger and I'll be back
