To Capcom,
Please remake Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil: Code Veronica the same way the original Resident Evil was remade for the Nintendo GameCube. Direct ports of these games will do do a great injustice to Nintendo, the GameCube hardware, and fans of the series. Interest will wane long before Resident Evil 4 is released if the GameCube remakes of the rest of the series are not on par with 1 and 0 (as they clearly will not be, given the present course).
Resident Evil fans everywhere were held in awe by the remake of the original RE and the promise of a similar treatment for the entirety of the series for the Nintendo GameCube. Unfortunately, most, if not all, fans recoiled in horror once it seeped into the public consciousness that Resident Evil 2 and 3 for the GameCube were going to be mere ports of the original PlayStation games, thus lacking the polish of 1 and 0 that drew many new fans to the series in addition to bringing back many older ones.
The Resident Evil fans demand something more from the GameCube versions of 2 and 3, something better. For a price tag of $40 each, where PlayStation and Dreamcast versions of the games may easily be had for under $10 (which are identical to the forthcoming new games), this is a shameful act by Capcom to ride the renewed wave of popularity 1 and 0 have created. Ironically, this wave will crash down more quickly than it rose, since having gotten a taste of what the RE series could be, no one will be able to lay down the money for a 5 year old 32-bit game for a new 128-bit system when many worthy titles will be available for a similar price tag.
There are many people who have never played a Resident Evil game ever before, the petition author included, who would like nothing more than to see the entire series remade, as was originally promised and partially delivered (with Resident Evil 1). These individuals will have no desire to buy poor quality PlayStation rehashes for any price, much less the same price as more contemporary titles, though they would be more than happy to spend the approximately $300 total to purchase the remade 1, 2, 3, and Code Veronica, as well as the newer 0 and 4 (at $50 each). If fans are to only buy the newer games, they will end up spending half as much ($150) instead. Collectively, this is an astronomical amount of potential revenue lost, made even more damaging by the labor that went into porting the games that no one is going to buy (and probably already own).
Capcom is missing a huge opportunity and cheating a large, loyal, and growing (but not for long if this continues!) fan base that has come to expect the high grade of quality presented by 1 and 0, and that should be rightfully continued by 2, 3, and Code Veronica; especially if Capcom would like to see its customer base actually purchase these games for the Nintendo GameCube.

- Please, everyone, let's show Capcom that we want the entire series redone. Don't buy those cop out PSX ports; get the PSX or DC versions if you must have them, but only support GC-quality games on the GC.

- When I played the remake of Resident Evil for Gamecube it felt like I was playing a brand new game that was superior in every way to the PSX version. I was a tad upset when I heard that the rest of the Resident Evil games would be mere ports of the DC and PSX versions. I honestly don't mind if it takes 15 years to remake these games, and I hope other people don't mind, but the Resident Evil games are classics that need to be remade for the modern era.

- I think all of the old RE games should be remade! especially RE2, which is my favorite classic one. But all of these should be remade, and another idea is that capcom could sell a 2 disc set which contains RE2 and RE3. That would make sales and fans more happy.

- Simply just importing RE2,3, and CV makes it boring for people who like the new GC graphics, especially someone such as myself..so, I am asking if you guys could PLEASE not just import them...I have RE2,3,and CVX already...what's the fun in having the same thing for GC?

- RE1 was pretty damn good. The others are decent buys, but at least give them a damn graphical update, y'know what I mean? Especially RE3 could also use some retouching.

- a full remake is needed not only for the graphics but to tighten the plots of the three games. you could use the Zero's Prerender engine for RE2 & RE3 and a version of RE4's 3D for RE:code veronica. this way the cost would be decreased as engine development is not needed. obviously you would use the current version of the RE4 engine for cv and work on it more for RE4 like you did with the REmake and zero. You also could fix some of the voice acting in the games, this should be easy as you should probably be using the same voice for Leon in RE4 as in RE2 you could get him to re-record some of the dodgy dialogue such as the infamous "don't shoot, I'm a human" line at the begining. Alyson court has aready proved she is commited to RE by doing Voice work for RE2, CV and CVX before as has the guy who did weskers voice in Zero, CV & CVX. The actor who played steve should be kept but have him redo alot of his lines as some his delivery of the earlier ones were a bit whiny before he got to grips with the character.

- the series has a great story, and great gfx as well. even though RE2 and 3 aren't going to be remade as of yet, they are still great games, and i'd buy them because i'm a die hard fan. but what about those who aren't die hard fans Capcom? don't you want to entice them to buy your product? and if you remake them, a $45 price tag is worth it.

- many fans of the series view resident evil 2 as the best game in the series. if you decide not to remake all the titles, at least consider remaking resident evil 2. at least this way, fans will have a chance to see all the resident evil heroes/heroines as they were displayed on REmake and RE0.
