Stop the indiscriminate breeding of these unwanted horses and Ponies.
Every year thousands of horses and ponies wind up neglected, abused or sent to knackerys. A big portion of these horses and ponies are the result of undesireable breeding practices.
Sign this petition and help us to change current legislation regarding stallion and colt ownership.

Proposed changes are,
That any stallion or colt aged 2 years or older be registered with a respective breed society and registered annually with a governing body such as Horse industry council, DPI, Local Councils etc.
Stallions and colts who are not registered with a breed society will be required to be gelded.
Exceptions would be in place for aged horses, sick horses etc apon a vet certificate stating that gelding at this time would effect the horse negatively and with the exception of aged horses this would be reviewed in 3 months time.

The hope is that with legislation like this inplace, the number of unwanted and neglected horses would decrease.

PLease sign this petition and help us get one step closer to solving the problem of unwanted abused and neglected horses.

    • Fantastic idea. I think this needs to be taken very seriously. I have myself rescued quite a lot of horses and some are definately of very questionable breeding. I believe that this can only be a win win situation if implemented.

    • This should definitely be put in to place. I know of one sweet little horse that would have a much better life if gelded. i don't see why horses are any different to cats and dogs. uncontrolled breeding is irresponsible. look at the thousands of animals that die each year in shelters because of this. i could go on all day about this topic! it infuriates me!!!!
