More Info at:
Scott Hall sports centre in Leeds has been waiting a few years for
the local council to fix a leaky roof and install ventilation
system both above the main sports hall.
Despite repeated requests for these two items the council have
not addressed either issue adequately.
As a main sports centre for the area, it is used by hundreds of children and
adults (including elderly) for general keep fit classes, badminton, football,
circuit training, boxercise, pilates and martial arts.
PROBLEM1: When it rains we all have to avoid various islands of buckets
and cones in the main sports hall. Despite the staff trying
their best to cordon off areas water invariably makes its way
across large parts of the hall. Needless to say in a public owned
building this is a situation which should have been fixed immediately.
PROBLEM2: When it is hot the classes being taken become intolerable.
There is no fresh air being supplied to the hall despite groups
containing 30-40 people. This prevents anyone enjoying the sports
activity they have paid for.
Both issues are clearly not something a visitor would expect to
contend with, especially after paying 3 an hour for a training
session.
Please arrange for the roof to be fixed and for a fresh air ventilation
system to be installed in the main hall as soon as possible.
