We the undersigned support State Senator Andrew Lanza's bill asking for the secession of Staten Island from the city of New York. For too long, Staten Island has received a non-proportionate amount of resources from New York City. This includes, but is not limited to, inadequate access to health care, transportation, and fire and police protection. Unless Staten Island starts to get an equal share, we wholeheartedly support this bill for secession.

    • Staten Island needs to run its own business NYC agencies do not care about us as much because we are the minority and we do not get our fair share and cannot improve our own borough when we have only three seats in the City Council.

    • I can't stand it that this city will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars fot the Second Avenue Subway line, but not a fraction of that cost to reactivate the Nourth Shore Railway on Staten Island. Transportation problems in other parts of the city get addressed, but not on Staten Island. Perhaps if we had our own City Council thing would get done for us.
