Hello there.
About 3 years ago a game was released that sunk deep into many peoples hearts and has been adored by gamers of all ages and types.
This game was 'Shadow of the Colossus'.
Recently there has been news of a movie release based around this game with a writer from the frankly appalling new 'Street Fighter' flick, and a producer from the even worse 'Scorpion King'. I have decided to make a petition to stop this from happening as nearly all game to movie creations have been abysmal. These films have been made with no creative vision or time, only setting out to earn as much money as possible by appealing to the general audience. If risks were taken and they were produced for the fans, some cracking films could be made, or if not, be stepping in the right direction instead of being stuck in the continuous Uwe Boll loop.
Here are some reminders of the dross that have been churned out:
Max Payne, Resident Evil, Dead or Alive, HITMAN, Final Fantasy (not the advent one), Tomb Raider, Dragonball Z, DOOM etc.
Together as a petition, we are asking for some sort of right to have a say in who should make these films, as we have gone unheard everytime, a (moderate) ban on Uwe Boll making any more game to film remakes and most importantly, a stop to a Shadow of Colossus movie.

- There's no reason to make this movie... Why take an idea from a Videogame to make a movie... Where is the creative process for proper cinema??? Sony... damn you.

- SotC could be amazing, if done by someone actually capable of adhering to the style and artform it already has. I'm not opposed to the creation of a film- I'm opposed to the track record of whose doing it.

- I am wholly open to artistic interpretations. However, any sort of a live-action remake of 'Shadow of the Colossus' would be nothing but an artistic massacre. I ask you this, how would Beethoven feel if Green Day went on tour with their rendition of the 5th Symphony?

- These game-to-movie adaptions have to STOP! They might work if the director is a fan. But from watching Chun Li to DB Evolution, it is CLEAR that they only care about the money!

- A hollywood film would go against the spirit of this game. Film is not the right medium to do it justice.
