- For the sake of 20-odd a year to each household, this is a ridiculous proposal which will surely be taken up by other councils. Cut out the money-wasting 'jollies' and use the money for future generations.

- This is the thin end of the wedge."If we tolerate this, it will be our children next."

- I manage a specialist drug and alcohol service. |Much of our prevention work with young people could not be undertaken without the support of the local youth workers. These cuts seem to disregard "every child Matters" and other local strategies for dealing with young people, substance misuse and social exclusion. Change your minds now.

- This is a much needed service, without this we will have higher drug and substance mis-use levels, more unsafe sex and teenage pregnancies and crime rates will also increase. Their is a section of young people who do not access other services available and are only accessed through outreach projects. What will happen to this group of young people now. Our youth generation is the voice of our future and we need to educate and guide them as best we can. This is an utter disgrace.

- How short-sighted is the current local administration? Todays Youngsters are tommorows voters! What messages are they providing? Do Young People in this County REALLY matter? First it was for budgetry purposes, NOW it's been implied poor performance operationally equates poor value for money? No mention, at all, of inadequate infrastructure for perfomance measurement, insufficient resources to meet unrealistic targets, or ??? LEADERSHIP!!??? Are these the SAME Councillors who, not so long ago, were PRAISING PUBLICLY the investment and work of the SAME Youth Service!!?? :-)

- I strongly feel that the destruction of NCC Youth Service is a short sighted act of vandalism devastating to the workforce but even more so to young people and the community in general. This will have far reaching effects for years to come.
