Stop Sarkozy Bigotry
We, the undersigned, take objection to French President Nicolas Sarkozys parliamentary address in which he called for the banning of the Muslim burqa. The burqa is commonly described as a garment covering the body and head, which Muslim women wear to conceal their bodies when in public.
The call by Sarkozy has the potential to incite Islamaphobia on an even larger scale in France and throughout the world. We object to his prejudice against Muslim women who choose to wear the burqa. France preaches liberty, fraternity and equality. We ask Sarkozy to practice these values.
it is important for Western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion as they see fit - for instance, by dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear. We cannot disguise hostility towards any religion behind the pretence of liberalism. President Barack Obama.

- It is compulsory for Muslim women to conceal the shape of their bodies. It is also compulsory for all Muslim women to cover their heads once they reach puberty. If the French Government refuses to allow Muslim women to cover themselves as ordained by God, why are they not doing the same to Nuns????

- Hijab/Niqab/Burka are signs of SUBSERVIENCE TO GOD'S COMMAND AND NOT SUBSERVIENCE TO HUMAN BEINGS!its a question of modesty not oppression

- Since women with niqab aren't welcome in France, I think Sarkozy and French businesses shouldn't be welcome in Muslim countries - especially the Arab Gulf countries, where many women wear niqab, and where Sarkozy comes trying to drum up business for France.
