Title: Star Trek® Massive Multiplayer Online Game For All (Linux + MAC) Platforms

Reason: PERPETUAL ENTERTAINMENT TO DEVELOP AND PUBLISH STAR TREK® MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME [STMMORPG]

To all Trekkies who don't use MS Windows or with friends using other operating systems.

This is a petition to Perpetual Entertainment Company who is developing a MMORPG in the original Star Trek universe. http://www.perpetual.com/pages/news.html

Our concern is if there will be a Linux and Macintosh version of this game
because many Trekkies use Linux, BSD and other Unices as we know from browser statistics from many Star Trek fansites.

Another reason is that alternative OS platforms are getting more popular very fast as you can see by watching the current growth of Linux platforms.
Additionally Windows users will profit from a cross platform game: as more users aren't excluded from the game as more fun it would be to play it (typical for a MMORPG). Besides that many clans will only accept a game that _all_ members can play. So please sign also if you wouldn't buy the game when your friend can't play it.

As one of the common ideal of Star Trek fans its the variety that makes the ST universe so worthy. Perpetual Software should carry this ideal into their development concept. Noone should be excluded to play such a promising game.

We ask you Perpetual Entertainment Company, to consider a port of your upcoming STMMORPG for other platforms, especially Linux and Macintosh.

This petition was created cause the game development is in an early stage and so a platform undependent client design might be possible.

Especially Trekkies know what a petition can achieve: without the engagement of the first fans, Star Trek wouldn't be the one that we know now.

It is important that this petition is growing fast and becomes popular to all Trekkies out there. So please contact Trekkies who don't know about this petition and inform Trekfangroups all over the world.

An alle Trekkies, die kein MS Windows nutzen oder Freunde haben, die andere Betriebssysteme benutzen.

Dies ist eine Petition an die Perpetual Entertainment Company welche ein MMORPG (Online Rollenspiel) entwickelt, das im Star Trek Universum spielt. http://www.perpetual.com/pages/news.html

Unser Anliegen ist es, uns fьr eine Linux und Macintosh Variante dieses Spiels einzusetzen, weil viele Trekkies Linux, Mac oder BSD einsetzen, was auch die Statistiken vieler StarTrek-Fanseiten beweisen.

Ein weiterer Grund ist, dass alternative Plattformen immer populдrer werden, was man z.B. an der zunehmenden Akzeptanz von Linux erkennen kann.
Auch Windowsnutzer haben Vorteile von einer plattformьbergreifenden Lцsung: Je mehr Spieler teilnehmen kцnnen, desto mehr SpaЯ macht es und desto mehr Spieler werden es spielen wollen (typisch fьr Online-Rollenspiele).

Viele Clans akzeptieren auch nur Spiele die _alle_ Clanmitglieder spielen kцnnen. Deswegen tragt euch bitte auch ein, wenn ihr Euch das Spiel nur kaufen wьrdet, wenn eure Freunde es auch spielen kцnnen.

Eine der Grundideen von Star Trek ist die Vielfalt und das ist einer der Werte die das ST-Universum so interessant macht. Perpetual Software sollte diese Idee in ihr Entwicklungskonzept integrieren. Niemand sollte von einem solch aussichtsreichen Spiel ausgeschlossen werden.

Wir bitten Perpetual Software die Portierung auf andere Plattformen zu berьcksichtigen, insbesondere Linux und Macintosh.

Die Petition wurde ins Leben gerufen, weil sich die Spieleentwicklung in einen frьhen Stadium befindet und so die Entwicklung eines plattformunabhдngigen Client noch mцglich ist.

Gerade Trekkies wissen, was Petitionen erreichen kцnnen. Ohne den Einsatz der ersten Fans wьrde es Star Trek in der heutigen Form nicht geben.

Es ist wichtig, dass diese Petition schnell wдchst und vielen StarTrek-Fans erreicht. Bitte kontaktiere andere Fans und gib Fangruppen in deiner Umgebung Bescheid.
