We, the undersigned, would like to enthusiastically encourage you to sign a contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers when you become a free agent on July 1, 2010. It is obvious that we want you to remain in Cleveland because you are a phenomenal basketball player. But more importantly, we would like you to consider what you mean to Cleveland as a city. Cleveland needs a hero. You have served this role well over the past several years. If you were to leave, not only would our beloved basketball team fall, but our hope and inspiration would also take yet another beating. This city has been downtrodden long enough. The notion of being a big star in a big city must be exhilarating. However, we would like you to ask yourself this:

Why would you want to be an icon, when you can be a savior?

    • I am from YOUR city and have followed you since your eighth grade year. I couldn't believe that the cavs acutally were able to draft you because things like that never happen to a cleveland team. believe me I know Ive followed them all my life. The fans in cleveland are the greatest in the world, even greater than the mecca nyc. You and I both know that if you leave, being from here, that you can never come home. also the cavs would be though, possibly end up leaving the city. You are great here,and wil be great anywhere, but in fifty years when your grandchildren are on your knee what story do you want to tell? How about the one where you brought a downtrodden franchise to the greatness of multiple championships. the cavs are doing a good job w/ personel, and they should be able to bring in another superstar in 10' along with bringing you back. that means 10 years of greatness, all in your local city. Imagine the days after your career is over after that! Talk about being an ICON !
