Buffy + Spike = Forever

In this season, Spike was finally beginning to develop into a respectable character. Now, little by little he is losing everything that he has worked so hard to achieve. Everyone is rejecting him left and right. Even the Scoobies, and they were his semi-friends.

What I find interesting is that Anya isn't getting the same treatment. Anya, afterall, was a demon for many centuries, and she shows no remorse for any of it. Because she's human now? It makes no sense that anyone would treat Spike like this for the simple fact that he is a vampire. Throughout the seasons, the Scoobies have accepted several beings who are not fully human. Anya has already been mentioned, but do Oz the Werewolf, Angel the Souled Vampire, or Tara and Willow the Witches ring a bell? If not, how about Giles the Ripper, Faith the Murderer, or Darla the Vampire? At one point or another, these characters have all been forgiven for their acts. Angelus was even eventually forgiven. Why then, is it that Spike is still looked down on when he has proven time and again to have more emotions than most of the humans on the show?

The fans of BtVS are highly upset with the route that this season Spike-wise has taken. Spike is the main reason that the show is so enjoyable to watch. All of the BtVS fans on the Spike lists love Spike and I know for a fact that all the people on the S/B lists want them together. Even though a large number of us can't stand Buffy.

    • I am one of those people who watch the show only because Spike is on it. The fiurth season of Buffy was horrible, the characters all lost what made them...well them, and Spike was hardly on it at all. But thos season the plot and characters got better and Spike got a much larger role. I am also one of those people who is not fond of Buffy but feels that she and Spike would make a great couple. Why? Because he always tells her the truth, lets her know when shes being a bitch...etc. The way Spike is being treated may very well be part of the plot but I don't see where it's going. Spike has more feelings and more passion than any other character on that show. I personally believe that he makes BTVS the success it is right now and I hope to see him around a lot more.

    • I love the character of Spike, and think that this awful treatment of him is just back pedalling by the writers, scared of him actually becoming somethhing. Sort it out now!

    • I totally would love to see Spike and Buffy together. And I am one who admires Buffy! I also would like to see Spike stay more human and not go totally evil. Although, I think making a Buffy-Bot is a little too desperate. But whatever you writers see fit to throw at us, I will eat it up every week and enjoy it. Thanks for a great show!

    • I really haven't liked what's happened to Spike this season. He's developing into a much better "person" but it seems that the rest of the Scooby Gang is getting worse. Even Tara and Willow were horrible to Spike and Willow was even nice to him when he tried to kill her right after he got the chip. I think they take that he's changing for granted. If they keeping on kicking him to the dirt then when he gets the chip out he's going to hate them so much more than ever before.

    • Buffy and Spike would make a great couple, and even if they don't hook up (boo!) why do you have to make it so hard for him? They should see how humaine he really is. I mean Angelus didn't have a soul, and if he were in Spikes position what would he do? Spike is the best!!!

    • She's right Damn it. Anya was just as "demon-y" and yet they treat her just fine. Plus, Spike is making a real attempt and getting shit all over. That sucks.
