Petition to Impeach the current commissioners of Coweta County Commissioners in Newnan, GA from current office. The current commissioners consist of: Paul Poole-District #1, Tim Lassetter-District #2, Randolph M. Collins-District #3, Rodney Brooks-District #4, and Al Smith of District #5.

This petition has been started due to the fact that a business called Starship Enterprises wants to put a business in Thomas Crossroads and the commissioners are suppose to listen to the people them voted them into public office. Here are some of the "crimes" that they have committed against their oath of office.

a) They wasted tax dollars to bring in Attorney Scott Bergthold from Chattanooga, TN to make a presentation Monday(1/26/08) to the Coweta County Commissioners on the various court decisions and studies upholding regulations on sexually-oriented businesses. This is waste a tax dollars and with our economy in the shape that it is in, this was not necessary. This is mis-use of our tax monies that are paid to our county.

b) Our elected officials are suppose to be in-tune with the people that elected them, well they are not. Coweta County has a lot of "blue-money" here and these officials might be afraid that if they don't do what these people say, then they will lose out on that money.

b) On 1/26/09, these commissioners held an "emergency "secret" meeting" to make the following against the law: The ordinance defines a sexually-oriented business as one that regularly features pornography and "regularly advertises itself or holds itself out, by using 'adult,' 'adults-only,' 'XXX,' 'sex,' 'erotic,' or substantially similar language, as an establishment that caters to adult sexual interests." The obscenity ordinance prohibits sale or distribution of obscenity, and prohibits anyone from "knowingly" selling, or possessing with the intent to sell, "any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs." The county's old ordinance specifically exempted condoms from being considered as a stimulation device. The new ordinance makes no such distinction, and would appear to apply to items such as ribbed condoms and various lubricants marketed as having a "warming" or "tingling" sensation. Such products are commonly available at most drug and grocery stores. The ordinance would also seem to apply to in-home "toy" parties, which are growing in popularity.

Their set punishment for the above ordinance violation: A violation is punishable by up to six months in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.

This means that these commissioners have come into "our bedrooms" and have told us what we can do and can't do. These commissioners are suppose to keep drugs and crime off of the street. Not regulate our bedrooms and lives.

This petition urges Coweta County resident and anyone in the USA to speak up for our right. If these people can come into our bedrooms and tell us what we can do, WHAT IS NEXT? People who come to these shops are law-abiding citizens that have the right to express how they feel for the husband/wife/partner. If this happens at a county lever, will a federal law be next.
