In our world, globalization, as good or as bad as it can be plays an important role, we live in a world in which decisions made by world leaders have an impact on everyone, no matter in which country or hemisphere you are.
Decisions made by the President of the United States, the most powerful leader on this planet, have a great impact on us despite the fact that we are not American citizens. What better example we have that the events taken place in the last few years: increase in contaminating emissions, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, crisis with Russia, world economic crisis, just to mention a few.
As citizens of the world we urge our brothers and sisters, the American citizens, to support and vote for Barack Obama in the next presidential election because he represents the only chance for a change both for them and for us.
As citizens of the world we have the right as well as the duty to express ourselves, we should send a strong message to the American citizens via the international and the American media urging them to make the right choice for their and our future.
We have to know that the choice they are making is going to impact on all of us: Citizens of the World.
In November 2008, presidential elections are taking place in the USA and there is a chance of a real change in their foreign affairs policy.
Barack Obama, who leads most of the polls by a small margin seems to represent this change, he represents a more human, plural and conscious way, both for our planet and the human race.
We are not naive and we do not believe in every promise politicians make, we know them very well, but some of the past decisions made by Barack Obama and his campaign proposals represent indeed a unique opportunity that we World Citizens should not miss.
Here are some examples of his proposals:
Clean Energy
Invest $150 billion over the next ten years to build a clean energy future.
Put 1 million Plug-In Hybrid cars on the road by 2015.
Ensure 10 percent of the US electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012, and 25 percent by 2025.
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050.
Make the U.S. a Leader on Climate Change.
Foreign Policy
Iran: Direct presidential diplomacy without preconditions. Offer the Iranian regime a choice.
Iraq: In 2002, Obama speak out against going to war. Ending the war in Iraq as president.
Global Poverty:
Double the American foreign assistance to $50 billion to fight global poverty.
Help the world's weakest states to build healthy and educated communities.
A Nuclear free World: Set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons.
Darfur: Immediate steps to end the genocide in Darfur.
HIV/AIDS: Invest at least $50 billion by 2013 for the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
Cuba: Obama declared that the U.S. is prepared to take steps to normalize relations and ease the embargo.
Sciences
Double federal funding for basic research.
Immigration
Increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together.
In this world where we all share the same sky and fell the same warm sun, we ask from you American people to choose and vote for the right option.

- I honestly can't believe so many people would vote for a man whose idea of international diplomacy is to sing songs about bombing countries he knows nothing about

- Barack Obama is the hope of our nation and world. If we don't realize that by electing him president we may be dealing with a world-changer, then that means that we as Americans have lost the ability to see a good candidate. Please take time to get to know Barack, as the time of the elections are coming close. Barack the Vote!
