We declare that water is a community resource and no source of water
can be handed over to any person or corporate entity for industrial
use without regard to the needs of the people. It is the duty of the
government to protect and conserve water resources and use them in a
sustainable manner. The government must be accountable to the
community when doing anything that affects this resource. We demand
that the governments first charge should be to fulfill the needs of
the domestic and agricultural sector before they plan for any
diversion of water for any industrial usage. The communitys right to
access water for domestic and agricultural use must be protected.

    • Water is one of the main elements due to which life on earth thrives. With rapid industrialization and depletion of natural resources due to climate change there has been an increase in the demand for water in the whole of India. Vizag the city of destiny is no exception and is facing a serious water crisis, the Government should first take care of the needs of the people and then the Industries.

    • Maintenance of eco balance in using natural resources must be maintained. Development is meaningless without water for the common man.

    • Water is a CPR and cannot be given to any private authority to make profits. Common man's needs must be secured first before getting into any kind of industrial agreements.

    • Vizag is my wife's home town. Though being a Non-AP'ite, my wife being a Telugu and especially being a Vizagite, I am very distressed to know about the situation. So on behalf of her and me, I would sign this petition

    • water is the elixir of life. I profusely thank Samata for taking up the issue. Dr. Rosaiah has been replaced by Kiran Kumar Reddy. and the petition could be addressed to him. Water bodies have to be protected. No film shooting on settings put up in Shambuvanipalem in Vizag District. Film censors should be told to delete all the scenes shot in the location, as it was a violation of all laws that protect the environment.
