We are signing to show our support for UMass Boston's College of Public and Community Service & our Major/Concentration in Community Media & Technology.

It is integral that CPCS remain a part of UMass Boston. The Community Media and Technology Program should be reinstated as well. Many of us chose to attend UMass Boston because of the CMT program. It is a crucial program and deserves much more support than the previous administration allowed.

Speaking as a CMT student: we are the future for technology. CMT needs to be expanded to allow those who are interested and who have the ability to have the opportunity to display our talents and skills as well as the capability of all form of Media & Technology.

    • Community Media & Technology is a unique major in CPCS. I feel that enrollment should be re-opened for those who want to be a part of the CPCS community. It's VERY unfair to those currently enrolled in the college and are not given the benefit of dobut.. Everybody learns differently. Just going into a classroom and reading something, then following it up with a test doesn't prove much. What it does show is that anybody can go and study a a day or two before something and be ready when the test arrives. After the test, who's to say one will remember what they were tested on? CPCS gives you the opportunity to network with one another, to work on projects with one another while learning and sharing what they know with others. If this is just thrown away, What will the future be for those wanting to do things revolving around what CPCS offers. You not only learn in the classroom with CPCS, but you learn outside the classroom as well.
