We, the undersigned, support the practice of recycling as a means of reducing the waste we generate and respecting the world around us. While we recognize that the town of Narragansett does not currently offer a recycling service for its residents, we consider the act of discarding reusable materials irresponsible and negligent towards our environment. We acknowledge the unspoken truth that University of Rhode Island students generate a large volume of bottles and cans that clog our landfills, and insist on an alternative. We, the undersigned, demand the implementation of a recycling program that will mitigate the reusable waste of campus students, as well as local residents. It is our responsibility to ourselves and our world.

- There aren't many more admirable projects that URI's tuition can finance than off-campus recycling.
