Today, November 4, 2008, history is going to be made. The new president to take George W. Bush's place at the White House will soon be announced. Millions of people are going to be voting today, of all races, religions, beliefs and views. You have the power to change everything. The current voting age is 18 years old and when you step up to cast your vote you should be informed on who you are voting for. I personally think the voting age should be lowered to 17 years old because millions of schools across America teach the students what they need to know to be informed themselves. I know if I had the chance I would be voting today because I know everything there is to know about the this years presidential election. Now I have to wait another 4 years to make a difference. Well now you have the chance to decide if you think we are ready. Sign this petition if you think the voting age should be lowered to 17 years old. You decide.

    • I'll be seventeen when the next Presidential Election comes up. If there's still the 18 law in place i'd have to wait another 4 years to vote. Plus i joined a group aimed at drafting political activist Jello Biafra for the Green Party presidential candidate. Speaking of which help get Biafra drafted cus he'll do real change.

    • The younger generation is the face of the world, They represent us and they need and deserve the right to vote. Its there counrty just as much as anyone over 18 and a lot of them are better informed than some. Give them a chance to prove it! It cant hurt us it can only help.

    • this is a good idea because usually at the age of 16 or 17 children will have or will be taking a government class and have learned about how the government works. they will have some sort of government knowledge and their parents can help in other ways also!
