On June 25, 2008 Southern California Ralph's grocery stores changed their double coupon policy to "limited" and promised to lower their prices. They did not lower their prices, and I have not set foot in their stores since they took an unbelievable pot-shot at the American people in a challenging economy. Less than a week later Ralph's reported record earnings for their previous quarter earnings. It spelled GREED in blatent terms to the people that are being hardest hit in these trying times.

Now Vons, with whom I swore my allegence, has announced with NINE days notice that they too will be limiting their double coupon policy. [Et Tu Brut?]

I, personally, will no longer shop at your stores if and when this happens. I will tell everyone I know that your new policy stinks and reeks of opportunistic GREED.

Please comment freely and tell Vons how you feel about their new policy to be instated August 20th, 2008.

    • I originally was a Staters Brothers shopper, but left to shop at Vons. The thing that made me leave Staters was your double coupon policy. Now that you are changing it and are no longer willing to double the $1 and up coupons I will be taking my shopping elsewhere.

    • I for one will NOT be shopping at Vons at all once you instill this policy. Your prices at Pavillons are outrageous....even though Pavillons is just down the street you charge substantially more for the exact same product at Vons(which is already overpriced...). I will be shopping at Sprouts, Trader Joes at Stater Bros...I'll even go back to Ralphs before I ever step foot in either a Vons or Pavillons again. Booo.... horrible customer service!!

    • at least Ralphs gave us a month. I will not shop Vons if they change their policy. Their prices are too high as it is. Doubling coupons make their sales only slightly better than SuperWalmart. It's not worth going to Vons for "slightly better" prices.

    • it's not a problem to switch to trader joes. i have shopped there off and on since the strike, and i really like their service. i teach couponing classes, so i'll recommend to 40 or 50 people that they not bother shopping at vons any more. no doubles to a dollar= not worth shopping . pretty simple. i haven't set foot in ralphs since they changed, and i can stop shopping at vons also.

    • Sorry Vons...without the doubling of coupons, I will take my business and money elsewhere. You are NOT the lowest grocery store in So. California, but I made the effort to shop there because of your coupon policy. I will not save money shopping for my family with your new coupon policy and I will shop somewhere else unless this policy is remedied. Thank you

    • I had never shopped at Vons or Pavilions before Ralphs changed their coupon policy, and I will not shop at Vons or Pavilions if you no longer double coupons. The stores near me are not nearly as nice or convenient as Ralphs, so I will have no incentive to return if the current double coupon policy is revoked.

    • I am very sad that vons has chosen to stop doubling coupons I have been a loyal shopper at your store for many many years..with the change in the coupon policy I will shop elsewhere for the better prices....

    • I stopped shopping at Ralphs (20 yr customer) and started to shop at Vons because of the coupon policy. Now I will shop at stores with daily low prices, ie Stater Bros. I am sorry you no longer want my money. I remember that you tried this before and changed your policy back (due to customers lost?). Couponers are a notorious lot for packing up their coupons and money and finding greener pastures. I am in no doubt that you will feel a drop in sales and revenue and a competitor will feel a bounce.

    • I am a couponer and shop at Vons due to their coupon policy. Vons is not the lowest price store in town, if this policy goes thru, I will have to stop shopping at Vons.

    • I will never step foot into a Vons/Pavilions again. Just as I have not stepped foot into Ralphs since they changed their coupon policy. I am filled with such disappointment. Once again, I am reminded how bad this world actually is.

    • With how the economy is going right now double coupons were really helping us to afford our grocery shopping. I am very disheartned to see you following suit with Ralphs.

    • I will no longer shop at Vons. I love their customer service, but I only shop there because of the current double coupon policy, so it will no longer benefit me to pay their higher prices and drive two cities away to shop there. I am so dissapointed that they are doing this.

    • I will no longer shop at Vons with this new coupon policy. I was happy to give ALL my business to Vons when Ralphs changed their coupon policy. I rely on double coupons, and I hope the corporation will reconsider the new policy. If not, a majority of my shopping will be at Trader Joes and I will go to the Ralphs and Vons only to purchace sale items (and they will have to be damn good sales for me to walk in there again).

    • I've been a loyal Vons shopper for 4 years, but now I am switching to any store which still offers true double coupons. If not, then I am off to Walmart and its superstore. I am telling my readers to do the same on www.ProHomemaker.com
