We, the undersigned, support Coach Paul Wheeler and request that the WJCC school board and Superintendent Dr. Steven Constantino consider all available courses of action that might result in Coach Wheelers return to Lafayette football. We believe that Coach Wheeler is an upstanding member of the community who has selflessly dedicated his career to improving the lives and futures of our youth. His dismissal after 10 years of outstanding performance is without merit. We request Superintendent Constantino evaluate both sides of this issue which is causing great polarization of our community. It is our opinion that the removal of Paul Wheeler as head coach of the Layfayette Rams football team was done in haste and without fair consideration.

    • I have watched him in practice coaching my son ( 2004-2008). Yes, Wheeler can get upset but does so with purpose and reason.

    • Coach Paul Wheeler is a great coach. While it may be hard to respect him when he's getting on your butt, looking back everything he did was to win and teach young kids values and discipline. If James City County lost Coach Paul Wheeler, it will have lost a great coach, mentor, and person. I strongly urge him be reinstated for the good of Lafayette's athletics and the students who attend Lafayette High School.

    • Our family has known the Wheelers in Oak Hill West Virginia for many years. They are strong and proud and have exhibited unparalleled integrity and dedication to their community. The same integrity that has brought Coach Wheeler success at Pulaski, Rustburg and Lafayette. Don't make a decision that I'm sure you'll regret once you've had to reflect on.

    • I can honestly say coach Wheeler has molded me into the person I am today. He not only taught me how hard work could pay off, but he showed me. Day in and day out I think about what coach Wheeler would say in certain situations like when I am lifting, playing football, or making any other types of decisions. With out coach Wheeler I believe I may not have been lucky enough to currently play football at the College of William and Mary. He taught me so many life lessons that I will never, ever forget.
