We, as fans of the CBS soap The Young & The Restless, and as supporters of gay rights, ask that Maria Arena Bell, CBS, and Sony sign actor Thom Bierdz to a long term contract. We would like to see a full development of Bierdz' character, Philip Chancellor, including the development of Philip's romantic life.

Bierdz is a fine actor and his character has a rich history with The Young & the Restless. His relationships with his onscreen family, and his exploration of his sexuality, are needed to give the show more balance.

- I am a gay man, and really was thrilled when as the world turns came up with their gay storyline..it was a hit with straight people as well as gay..it portrayed gay people in a positive way, showing that we are human and want love, just like anyone else,,,,now with the end of as the world turns, a new gay storyline on young and the restless is needed....thom bierdz is a brillant actor, and his charecter has a long time history on the show, and there are so many possibilities of where the charecter of phillip could be taken....please bring thom back to the show to stay..it is time that y&R to catch up with the times and have gay charecters, as just in real life, we are everywhere....it will help keep y&r as the top rated soap...thanks so much for your consideration...Dan Shoemaker
