  • This law is ridiculously strict. If a video contains copyrighted music then it is removed! I make fanvideos, and have lost three popular videos because of this rule. I was not passing the music off as my own in the videos, in fact I credited the musicians in the video and description box. The audioswap facility is useless for fanvideos such as mine because the whole video is tailored specifically for that particular song. Other sites where copyright may be an issue such as fanfiction set out to sort out potential copyright problems so that their users don't have to be inconvenienced and disappointed by their hard work being taken down. Youtube is not doing itself any favours by keeping such a strict rule. Please remove it or at least make it less strict, for the good of the users and the site.

  • I have already had four videos blocked that I made! They were up for almost 3 years! I know youtube recieves a lot of crap concerning copyright, but youtube's going too far. This is almost as ridiculous as Metallica's crusade against Napster. Even Metallica understands that mp3 technology is just a part of today's lifestyle now. They actually didn't get that angry after Death Magnetic leaked 10 days before release. That album still sold at #1 around the world for three weeks straight! Am I overreacting? Maybe, but I guarantee I am not th eonly one getting videos blocked. I bet you we will start to see an enormous amount of AMVs blocked, concert footage by fans blocked, and other awesome vids blocked!

  • I think that the restrictions are getting to a ridiculous point. Users can't even make videos with background music that isn't their own. I'm honestly wondering what YouTube is going to come to, considering a large percentage of their videos violate their laws. The YouTube that I knew before all of this didn't seem to cause any problems for anyone; no film directors outraged, and no musicians sueing... Video is a form of art, and I'm sure that the people who make these videos see it in that way. They don't have bad intentions, and their work is only for entertainment purposes. Maybe if they were mass producing the video and advertising it everywhere, then I think their video should be looked at by the people that they are using the work from, and then they can make a decision as to what to do about it. I just think that all of the laws are understandable, but the amount of restriction seems unneccessary.

  • Recently, 4 videos were blocked, 2 of them were my most popular videos, giving more than 50,000 views. with this Copyright law, I have lost almost all my views. From 50,000 to 500.
