Ann Arbor Golf and Outing recently announced new regulations for parking on its golf course on University of Michigan home football Saturdays. These new regulations can be viewed here. (http://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2009/06/ann_arbor_golf_outing_club_tig.html.)
The parking changes will effectively prevent tailgators from tailgating in locations where they have been doing so for decades. The rules will also eliminate large tailgates that involve numerous -- sometimes dozens of cars. Michigan football is about family and tradition. These regulations are contrary to both.
The purpose of this petition is to alert Ann Arbor Golf and Outing to the outrage of its loyal customers (some of us have been parking there for decades)and to elicit a change in the new regulations.

- We have something special at AAGO on gamedays. Please do not change it as other venues have, but instead preserve the experience.

- Please don't restrict how we pay you $40 to park. You get your cake, please don't rub it in our faces too.

- This should be about tradition, friends, and family...not the bottom line. Actually, the bottom line may suffer if people choose to tailgate elsewhere.

- Family traditions are greatly affected by the proposed rules from AAGO. I am strongly against them.

- The proposed changes do not increase the value of the parking, only the revenue potential to AAGO.

- Please do not invoke rules that discourage family and friends to come together to enjoy the spirit of Michigan football. You stand to lose a large portion of revenue if you decide to proceed.

- I have been a season ticket holder and tailgater for over 20 years and would hate to see some Michigan tradition go by the wayside.

- We have been in the same spot for 10+ years. To coordinate so that all attend sequentially is impossible (even when we didn't all have kids) and if kept as is, I and the 6 other families including several former players who have played under Bo will be parking elasewhere. You have simply left us no other choice.
