The uptick rule for shorting must be returned in order to put a curtail on abusive practices unless our society wants to not only tolerate but reward bullies. The dumping of stocks have driven investors away and this abuse must stop.

- Why was this ever eliminated. Does the SEC work for investors or the hedge funds?

- The SEC seems to be alligned with the special intersts of the hedge funds. We must stop all naked short selling and must re instate the uptick rule! Hey Cox, get your head out of the sand and look at what your lack of enforcement is doing to undermine the confidence of investors.

- This rule change which became effective on July 7 2007 is responsible for the destruction of many companies during the past year----all shorting should be banned. but the immediate situation would be vastly improved by turning back the Uptick rule to its status prior to July 2007.

- The rule reduces volatility and manipulation. No uptick rule destroys wealth.
