Whereas national unity matters.

Whereas the things on which Americans agree far outweigh the things they don't.

Whereas both of the major party presidential candidates are respectable leaders.

Whereas the constant bickering, namecalling, and baseless conspiracy-mongering on both the right and left is greatly destructive to the harmony and success of our political system.

Whereas the nation and world will clearly not go into utter annihilating chaos should the candidate of our choice not win the election.

Whereas the United States of America is an incredible nation, deserving of our gratitude and loyalty regardless of who is president...

We, the undersigned, hereby promise that irrespective of the winner of the 2008 presidential election, we will not move to Canada, threaten to move to Canada, or state our wish to move to Canada at any point in time with the president of the United States at the stated reason.

Furthermore, we also pledge not to nod in approval and understanding when we hear another person threaten to move to Canada, but instead make a statement resembling "Hey, America is still great, even with that dillweed as president."

Lastly, this petition will also apply to Australia, the UK, Ireland, and any other country similar to Canada in the fact that it is not the U.S. but isn't different enough to actually be difficult living there.
