    • We need to be protected when we travel, because this is when we are the most vulnerable. Extraordinary care must be taken to preserve the comfort and dignity of all passengers during travel, especially the poor who cannot afford arrogant and indifferent disruptions of service. During the summer of 2003 I experienced the arrogance of and airline delaying my flight for over 5 hours and knowing my connection would not be available at the next location, which resulted in a desperate search for lodging, since no one with the airline at Philadelphia's Airport (not a small airport) was available after my connecting flight arrived, but my departing flight had already taken off at 11 PM..
