We, the undersigned, both fans of Ashlee Simpson and of other artists living in the United States of America and of countries around the world, implore that Ashlee Simpson continue to record, tour, model and perform and that all others involved with her career continue to support her art and self expression, despite the insistence from outside partys to discontinue her career.
While we believe in and support the First Amendment to the US constitution and the rights of those to express their opinions towards Ashlee Simpsons music and talent, we exercise our right to express our support of Ashlee Simpson, encourage her to exercise her rights and express her art and creativity and to promote tolerance, which was an element from which the amendment was created for. Furthermore, this is not solely about Ms. Simpson, but a promotion of tolerance for all artists to be able to express themselves and provide art and entertainment for their fans.
We find it callow and discourteous that certain individuals have chosen to not just speak out negatively about Ms. Simpsons artistic abilities, but about her character and to articulate obscene comments concerning Ms. Simpsons health and well-being, the former constituting a statement of values while the latter is simply distasteful and upsetting to many individuals.
Ms. Ashlee Simpson is an accomplished performer and a unique, talented artist with many, many fans all over the world and she is still just realizing her true potential. She is loyal to her fans, friends, family and has persevered through different adversities in her young life and career, all of which are a true testament to her character.
In short, if you do not like her music then dont listen to it and turn the channel or station. If you do not wish to see her perform then dont buy tickets. However, we ask that you at least respect her rights to sing and perform and those who enjoy her music.

- I love you Ashlee Simpson. Even though I am a boy, I still really like your inspiring and fun music and your different, funky style and your great acting talents. You really inspire me to not listen to what people say about me, and I think you are a great role model who shows everyone that they can have a great time and even if you fall on your face, you can get right back up and continue to do what you need to do. I really like you, and I went to your concert in Atlanta and it is the best concert I have been to!! Good luck and keep doing what you're doing...and I am so excited about your next album--i LoVe ThE 80's!! I have always been into acting and I feel like I could express myself best through that, but recently I have been writing songs and they are actually pretty good...and you inspired me to do that...so thanks!! maybe i will be on the big screen with you Ashlee and maybe in a few music videos!!
