For decades the people and the economy of the Philippines have been misgoverned by traditional and corrupt political leadership.

Our economic freedom and social development as a nation have been hindered by a few interest groups, these are the people who number less than 10\% of our population but they are close to and/or have the power, and hold almost the entire wealth of the nation; these are your traditional/dynastic politicians, and the old/new moneyed families.

We are a wealthy nation in terms of natural and human resources, unfortunately this tremendous wealth benefited only a few; it has not reached the greater majority because it has been squandered by a corrupt dysfunctional system and successions of leadership, then and now bankrupt in morality and integrity.

In the 2010 election, we scream for change! We want a new leader whose loyalty is to the people and will work for the people. We want someone who will break the curse of bad leadership and a system that have plunged our people to criminal poverty.

In view, we bring forward this petition expressing our desire and support for the soon to retire Chief Justice Reynato Puno to consider leading the Nation as the new President of the Republic of the Philippines in 2010.
