Artist theft soon-to-be legalized?
What is the meaning of this?

Do you really want to take away our rights as artists?

We REFUSE to pay to keep OUR art.
Our art should be protected under law.

This is cruel and unfair.
Please, for the sake of ALL the artists.
Do not pass this bill.

    • Why are you doing this!? It is NOT fair for the artists who show great skill in their works, but some low-life of a 'attention-getter' comes and steals to claim as their own! In doing so, the REAL artist's credibility is shattered! The art WE create are our own 'children,' for god's sake! It's like taking our children, and brainwashing them to make them your own!

    • I feel that this Orphan Law thing is a bunch of bullcrap! I'm somewhat of an artist myself, and I love drawing and painting, and the last thing I want to do is see legaliziation of some random butthole deciding to photoshop my work and steal it! This is just retarded!

    • Honestly, this is the worst copyright-based idea since the DMCA and the CTEA of 1998. Do not let this pass.

    • I have to agree with this petition. Allowing the orphan works law pass would jeopradize the work of arists around the world. We have a hard enough time already protecting our work that we put so much hard work into; but if this law is allowed to pass it will be like nothing we create is ours anymore. The whole point of creating art is making something that belongs to you, that comes from the heart and is supposed to be something that no one can take away. This law will do exactly that, and if that happens, artists will no longer feel the need to produce any work because of the fear of it being stolen. Although I understand the concern of identifying the owner of a work, this is not the solution to the issue. If anything, this would make it more difficult because so many people would be impersonating real artists, then what? Please do not pass this law, let us artists keep our work out of the hands of thieves.

    • Why would you pass this Bill? For money? This will bring you nowhere! If we as artists and designers must PAY to have our work protected as it is already now, never again will there be the extent of creative expression in the world as there is now! The flow of uploaded art on the internet would cease to exist and as a result you would gain NOTHING. This Bill quenches the very want to make art for the simple fact that you fools are willing to allow some hack to take what never was theirs for the sake of the God-Forsaken dollar. Your pockets are already bulging with greed enough as it is. Let the rest of us live our lives in peace knowing our work is protected FREELY like our HUMAN RIGHTS.

    • What idiots these people are to think that they can get away with this crap! Our art is our own to use as we please, and not have some person with or without art talent, come and steal our art, claim it as their own, get MY art registered, then I get FINED for someone ELSE registering MY OWN ART!!!!!! So I'm a thief....
