I hereby declare that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council should NOT sell Attwood Close Mobile Home Park to a private landlord.

I believe the best thing for the borough is that this park should remain on the porfolio and continue to be owned and run by the council. The council should use part of the profits made by the site to employ someone as the site manager.

DON'T SELL ATTWOOD CLOSE!!!!!

    • Selling Attwood Close would subject the residents to rules and regulations implemented at the whim of a private individual. There has been plenty of press in recent years given to unscrupulous individuals who buy mobile home parks and then treat the residents in an appalling manner with no respect for their right to live peacefully and securely in the own homes. One has to question the motive for the proposed sell off arent these elected individuals supposed to be serving the people of the borough? How does selling off Attwood Close serve the borough especially those residents of the Close who clearly do not want the site sold?

    • I find it hard to understand why the Council would want to sell off such a shining example of their hard work and dedication to Community spirit especially while they are currently in the process of re-developing parts of Basingstoke at major cost and Attwood Close is already a well established Community in its own right. How many people can safely say they know practically all of the people on their estate! - I expect many people hardly even talk to their next door neighbours who live in a House. The Residents of Attwood Close take great pride in their properties and gardens and many would not be able to afford great rises in Rent. Council says we are protected by Legislation but who protects the Residents!. You only have to speak to other Residents of other Private Mobile Home Parks to understand the misery and intimidation they take - I knew someone who did live down the Hatch and I need say no more!.
