To whom it may concern,
We as the State of Ohio need to have something changed in our hit and skip law. While the law punches hit and leaving the scene of the accident, its not really sending a message to the young people in this country. In order to send a message out to the young people of this county we need to increase the punishment for this very serious crime. There has been many families in this state who have had a loved one killed or a family member suffering from the incident for the rest of their lives and for the individual who hit them and ran, this just shows that they dont care about what happened to the individual who is lying on the ground suffering in pain or dying.
According to the State of Ohio law the individual who commits a hit and skip is only subjected to a maximum of five years in prison. Five years compared to the rest of the familys life without that loved one, that is just a slap on the wrist.
We would like to propose that the sentencing for Hit and skipping the scene of the crime would be increase to anywhere from 2 to 5 years to 15 to 30 years in prison without the chance of probation. They lost that chance for probation when they decide not to go back to see what or whom they hit.

- When you make the decision to leave the scene of the accident you are willingly consenting to leave that person to the chance someone else may come along and get help. This is premeditated and deliberate, when a simple phone call could save someones life. Please change this law.

- My daughter was ripped from our lives at Christmas time from an uncaring, thoughtless and cruel person. Who chose to leave her without help. This is the second hit and skip in our family, the first one was my grandaugher, killed in the same way. Please change these laws.

- Individuals need to be held accountable in any hit and run. Even 15-30 years does not seem long enough for someone taking a loved ones life particulary leaving the scene. That is plain having no respect or consideration for the individual hit by the car or the family. I am outraged that the sentence could only be a few years. Audrey's law would send a message to people involved in a hit and run accident. No leanancy.

- I also think if you leave the scene you should give up your right whether it's an animal or person you should make sure of what you hit most people who leave the scene is either a DUI or someone with no insurance

- Chris Miller is a good man that made a deadly mistake that completely altered his life. My deepest sympathies to the family, but sending him to prison for 5 years will not bring Audrey back. He can hardly live with himself because of this mistake, isn't that punishment enough?

- My deepest sorrow goes out to Ms Williams' family. But lets get the facts straight. People are signing this petiton without the truth. I don't see one thing concerning the time this accident happened (approx 1 AM in the morning), condition of Ms William (3 times over the alcohol limit), wearing all black, walking on wrong side of road. Without these facts how can you make a fair determination of actually what caused this accident. Matter of fact both reports on Channel 2 are making a very harsh statement stating that he washed the blood off his car. Last report stated "prosecutors said". This DID NOT come from the prosecutor's officelf and this DID NOT happen. I'm surprised that Miller's family is not filing a lawsuit against all involved in publishing this LIE.

This lady has almost been hit on this road multiple times before right sooo where was this loving family all the nights she was walking down the road on drugs and drunk off her mind???? Its funnie that you want to love and be close to her now and call chris miller a murder but where you and all of her family while she was walking down that street all the times she has chris miller isnt a murder i personally think they had the wrong person on trial. but good for you audreys family step up and do sompthing now since youve never been there for her befor....FREE CHRIS MILLER
