On December 26, 1862, president Abraham Lincoln long thought to be honest Abe and a hero to most Americans ordered the largest mass hanging in world history (see Guinness Book of World Records) in which 38 innocent Santee Dakota Sioux men at Mankato, Minnesota, were immorally hung from wooden gallows on that ungodly winters day.
The Santee Dakota Sioux had been forced to agree with the u.s. governments terms of living on a reservation and not hunting off the reservation in their old traditional hunting grounds. The Santee were illegally forced to relinquish millions of acres of prime real estate (such as the site of the current Mall of America) at the end of the white mans guns - so long as basic needs were met on the reservation through agreements with the congress and the president.
The Santee maintained their honoring of this forced agreement until a corrupt American agent denounced his duty to distribute obligations by refusing the Santee Dakota their rations. The agent was selling the Indians food to his own white friends. He told the starving Indians that as far as he was concerned they could eat grass.
So the Santee men began hunting deer for their peoples immediate survival needs and were then immediately and unjustly declared by the government and press as hostiles. The term was used in similarity to how the current buzzword terrorists is manipulated by todays government and press to frighten Americans and force them into making wrong decisions, which benefit only a few government officials. The innocent Santee people were all ruthlessly hunted down by a crazed u.s. military and Minnesota citizenry.
The Indians who remained in the vicinity were all rounded up and held as detainees. Rapes and torture were implemented with blessings from the god-fearing president and secretary of war (now called secretary of defense). The starved Indians were ignored while great emphasis was placed upon the few dead Americans who had become so while shooting indiscriminately at any Indians they could find hunting.
The government and media called it a battle, an uprising blamed on the savages. Yet the Santees only crime was hunting the deer their ancestors had hunted for millions of years upon open lands, free to all; a land without fences and barriers, or control of the freedom of the individual.
Abe Lincoln ordered the hanging of the men all without trial that cold day after xmas, in the year of the Jewish lord Jesus, 1,862 years after he was hanged (with trial). It was said that 38 were hung because there wasnt enough rope to hang a hundred.
For this reason, it is expected that Lincoln be removed from his position as hero and relegated to a more appropriate position, to somewhere near the status of columbus and hitler. We demand that Abe Lincoln's dishonest and shameful face be removed from the "occupied" (see www.1851treaty.com) and desecrated area called Mount Rushmore immediately. - The Good people of the South have never thought of "Ape" Lincoln as honest, or as a hero. The sooner the complete thruth is told, the better it will be for all of us. Lincoln's image should be removed from everything except books or websites dealing with the greatest criminals of history.

- This is BEYOND BELIEF! THE BIGGEST MASS EXECUTION IN HISTORY ordered by the "Great Emancipator"? This is beyond belief, this is beyond belief, this is BEYOND BELIEF! I LIVED in Minnesota for a time, doing research on historical and environmental sites for the state for the education of K-12 students. I KNEW about the Chippewa forcing the Dakotah from Ponema Point on what is now the Red Lake Reservation, but I did NOT know about THIS abomination, and it was, back in the 1960s,and these facts were still kept secret! I'm SO glad the WORLD can know now, along with K-12 students in Minnesota! And I am SO sad that Abraham Lincold has been exposed for the mass murderwer that he was! O mean, I have always been able to defend him for thge 600,00+ lives lost in the Civil War because I celebrate the end of slavery...but this puts a VERY different "slant" on things! My wife and I were going to see Spielberg's "Lincoln" today, but after learning these facts yesterday via NPR, I had to opt for another film. My great-grandfather fought in the Pa. - I am in agreement with this petition. Men are revered as heroes by the deeds they do. History needs to acknowledge the extermination of First Nation peoples in the same light as is any other atrocity perpetrated against human beings. To have this face towering over your life after what was done, is comparable to having Hitler's face carved 60 feet tall hanging over Skokie or Jefferson Davis' revered countenance beaming down on East St. Louis. When we speak of murder and justice, it is time for true equality among all human beings!
