Subject: Regarding direct flights from Bangalore to Patna.

Dear Sir,

Under your stewardship, in the past few years the department of civil aviation has steered the civil aviation in India in a remarkable direction. Consequently, air traffic in India has grown multi-folds with many tier II cities getting connected directly to the metros and with each other. Millions have benefitted from this boom.

We the Information Technology workers from Bihar working in Bangalore have failed to benefit from this boom. We feel that there is a huge market left untapped by the government-owned airlines, with no direct flights to the capital city of Bihar from Bangalore. We believe that a large number of techies from Bihar have to face hardships due to this, in comparison with those from other parts of India. We, therefore, request you to start a flight from Bangalore to Patna, at the earliest possible.

We are sure that a cost benefit analysis will demonstrate that direct flights to Patna will not only bring relief to the Techies working in Bangalore but also increase revenues of the government-owned airlines with a large population from Bihar preferring to reach their hometowns much faster, and with greater convenience.

We hope sincerely that you and your department will look in to our petition and respond to it favourably.

    • Its really very disappointing and frustrating too that we don't have a direct flight from Bangalore to Patna inspite of contributing the IT infrastructure significantly. It is a very costly affair while taking two flights to reach our hometown. Please take this issue very seriously respond to your earliest.

    • I would completely agree with the petitioner here. Travelling to Bihar not only is time consuming, but tedious and costly. Such a step would definitely boost the revenues of the public sector aviation based on the fact that not a single seat in a two tier A/c railway coach in Sanghmitra Exp. (Bangalore-Patna) goes vacant, the price of which is in lines with the aircraft fares.
