I support the Belfast Cycle City campaign vision, which calls for Belfast to be one of the top ten cycling cities in the UK by 2020 and believe that, at present, provision for cyclists in Belfast is inadequate.

As an elected representative for Belfast, I ask you to endorse the Belfast Cycle City campaign and to support the three actions it recommends ;

- the creation in 2010 of a new ten year Belfast Cycling Strategy
- a 10\% target for all trips by bicycle in the year 2020
- an increased annual spend on cycling to 15 per person, comparable to the main cycle-orientated English cities.

    • Great idea, more bikes the better for everyone, we need to spread the word about how good cycling really is.

    • Do we really want less air and noise pollution? Less ailments? Less alienating anonymity (less road rage, more friendly faces)? More playgrounds and green space? or foil oil wars? Mens Sana in Corpore Sano?? -Yes, please! (More signatures needed at: http://www.combergreenway.co.uk/ )

    • Cycling to Belfast city centre is a nightmare, cycle paths are not continuous + the Lagan tow path is a drowning waiting to happen on adark and icey winter cycle commute.
