We the undersigned insist that the FIA (Fйdйration Internationale de l'Automobile) reconsider the decision made to add 25 seconds to the finishing time of Lewis Hamilton (McLaren-Mercedes) in the Formula 1 Belgium Grand-Prix (07th September 2008). We believe the decision that has been made to be wrong and strongly urge you to revert back to the original final classifications. The rules state that Lewis Hamilton had to give position back to Kimi Raikkonen, which he did. He then freely, and through driving skill alone got position one back.

    • I'm disgusted at this decision a shocking farce!!! The FIA really ought to think again as you are making me and others wish to turn off from watching F1.

    • This decision is yet another in a string of poor decisions that either favour Ferrari, or put Lewis Hamilton out of the running. It's just like Graeme Obree in the World Cycling Championships back in the 90s. If this decision stands, you have no idea how many fans you will lose, particularly myself who has been a supporter of F1 since I was 6. Don't destory the sport that millions love with this pathetic decision.

    • Disgraceful decision - he clearly let Kimi past and went behind him. The chicane had no influence on the final outcome. I would be happy for Massa to win the championship, but by his own merit - not tainted by being given this when he was nowhere near Lewis and Kimi.

    • Penalty or not this could have been handled a whole lot better. This sport is trying my patience to the limit, and makes me think twice about actually paying some money to go and watch a race. What a farce!

    • Completly unfair decision. His driving skills were impecable. He gave the place up and then won it back. Commentators had no problem, i believe they do have some knowledge on the subject.

    • What an utter disgrace! There should be some investigation in to the stewards! I can understand any driver being penalised for gaining an unfair advantage, but Lewis gave back the position, and then re-took it. It was clear from the last tyre change that Lewis was quicker, so I can't believe he gained any advantage. The FIA just seem to be too biased towards the red cars these days and it's making me feel like switching off to F1 completely.

    • I'm no fan of Hamilton's, but he did not deserve this penalty. Over the past few years, F1 has turned from a sport to a constant courtroom melodrama.

    • This is to the FIA. You know why this decision was made. It may suit a short term agenda but you have taken yet another of the 9 lives of this once great sport. The spirit of racing is dead but I believe you will now find you've gone too far and the fans will see your actions for what they are. A DISGRACE!!

    • One of the most exciting races in a long time has been ruined by a terrible decision by the stewards. I think the sport will lose a lot of fans because of their inconsistant and seemingly biased decisions.

    • In my opinion this is the most ridiculous race steward decision that I have ever seen. It brings the FIA, the MSA and all of motorsport into disrepute as it appears that in order to win an F1 race or a world championship, you must drive a Ferrari. The incident at the chicane was a racing incident, in the wet on slick tyres. Hamilton gave the place back to Raikonnen and then fairly retook the position. I watch motorsport and compete too... IMO this makes the sport we love look crass and biased. I wonder why the fans should bother to pay and watch the races, when the results are decided in the stewards room, by race directors showing such blatant bias.

    • FIA F1, aka, formula farce. Play fair or don't play at all. Hamilton did not gain an advantage, had he not cut the chicane he'd have been in Kimi's slipstream at turn 1,just as he was after yielding the place. NO ADVANTAGE GAINED.

    • What have the FIA and Bernie Eccelstone got against Lewis. He is the most gifted driver on the grid. Yet everytime he gets an advantage and momentem in the championship, the FIA seem to have to get involved. I strongly beleave that in the last race, last season (in Brazil) that they(fia)/Bernie had something to do with Lewis's 18 second loss of power. Thats the time it takes from complete shut down (by the computers) of which since last season the FIA also have control over as well as the team, to then reboot all the three computer's. It is so blatant what they are doin to him mclaren and most important the sport. I just hope you sit up and listen to everyones comments!!
