Coach Barry Switzer coached The University of Oklahoma to 3 national titles (1974-75,85). He is 4th on all-time winning pct list at .837 (157-29-4), and never lost more than 3 games in a regular season.

Bobby Bowden, Bear Bryant and Tom Osborne all have losing records against Coach Switzer.

He was one of the first coaches to actively recruit African-American atheletes. He perfected the Wishbone offense. There are also many coaches in the NCAA and beyond who were mentored by him.

His influence in the game of college football is still felt today and it is wrong that the College Football Hall of Fame will not induct him.

The original excuse was that Coach Switzer was inelegible because he began to coach the Dallas Cowboys. That point was proved moot when Coach Tom Osborne of the University of Nebraska was inducted into the hall the year he retired.

I believe Coach Switzer is not in the hall right now because of a bias that exists in the College Football Hall of Fame. This is wrong and he should be awarded a place in the Hall of Fame, where he belongs.

    • He owned Dr. Tom... Dr. Tom owes Coach Switzer for his NCs titles.. If Coach Switzer was still at OU.. he would have retired with 0 NC Titles

    • If Dr. Tom got in without having to wait for eligibility, surely Switzer and his 12-5 record against Tom should get in.
