Hello, my name is BJ Stasio. I would like to marry my girlfriend, but it would mean that i would lose all my medical coverage. Now the only reason this affects me is that i have cerebral palsy. The government is threatening to take away my benefits if i was to get married, which would put all my expenses on my girlfriend. My expenses are too much for her to handle, and i would not want to put that kind of burden on her. So please sign the petition and help me make my dream come true. Thank you for your time, you are greatly appreciated.

    • This is as bad as widows not being able to draw their social security or retirment benefits if they remarry. It has forced many couples in to co-habitation and does not help the countries moral issues at all.

    • Government disincentives to marry should be abolished. This is particularly difficult for people with disabilities and seniors who wish to marry, but the governmental restrictions on their income do not allow them to marry. The government should get out of the bedroom and stick with benefit compensation regardless of marital status.

    • Me and my child are both disabled and we both draw the full amount in SSI benefits and we both get Medicaid coverage. It is NOT right for the USA governemnt to take advantage of disabled peole who want to get married! The USA Government needs to stay out of disabled people's personal lives and let them marry WITHOUT the threat of losing their righful beneifits!

    • Of corse you should be allowed to marry the one you love without burddening them! It is completely stupid to take away your coverage if you get married.

    • People with disabilities suffer enough with not enough money, food stamps being cut, monthly allownaces being cut. They should be allowed to keep their benefits if they marry. They should not be penalized for wanting to have some sembelance of a normal life.
