  • I, without any doubt from myself or my classmates, should have been one of the vals of Jesuit HS of New Orleans this year (we had 6). However, I rank 11th in my class because of a B, first semester of calculus...in 10th grade. Seniors with a full schedule are allowed to have one grade in first semester disregarded in rank calculation; but I was denied the option because of the technicality that I was not a senior when I took calculus. So in my leap past the rest of the class, I suffered a scar on my record. Of course, I was disappointed; I thought I deserved that honor more than anyone else. Yet I came to realize that high school valedictorianship is merely one address to the class, one name on paper, one check in a box; high school is much more than that. I am proud of my high school accomplishments, even if I don't have the stamp of "valedictorian." That stamp is nominal and near meaningless in the future, and it's hardly worth a lawsuit. Hornstine, respect your classmates' accomplishments as well.

She wants to be a poverty lawyer, and likes mentioning her organizations to help the less fortunate, but wants to rob her school district of 2.7 million dollars just so she doesn't have to share her title? She is a petty, childish, bratty hypocrite and does not deserve a spot at Harvard.

  • I realize that she does have a condition but you and your self centered family have wasted the time of a lot of people. Plus you're making the graduation completely focused on YOU. Yes, farking YOU! What about the other people in your class??? If you think high school wears on you disability you have no chance in college or in Graduate school. Do you not realize that people WILL remember what you did ?? It will stay in the public's mind for a long time. Congrats moron.

  • I live in a town next to Moorestown, where Blair currently resides, and I've had the unfortunate privledge of meeting her. Not only is she a spoiled little rich brat, but her snobbish personality shines right through her so-called "chronic fatigue" disablility. The fact that someone could be so selfish in suing the school for the sole position of valedictorian just goes to show that she does not deserve to be accepted into a school such as Harvard.

  • I *love* it that she was disinvited...I hope that her title of Valedictorian is stripped as well!! She should REALLY be left behind & have to repeat the year IN SCHOOL - not at home w/tutors! Don't 'regular' people get EXPELLED for less? Hope she applied to some community colleges, too!! heheheh...jacka$$

  • again, frivilous lawsuits brought by people who clearly have way too much time and money on their hands. There is misery and suffering everywhere in the US and the world and these self-righteous and smallminded people want to waste our time and money in court over such nonsense. 5 years from now when they have all graduated from college and are off on the long hard road of the 50 year career grind, nobody is going to give two hoots who was valedictorian. If they do, they need to fill their lives with something meaningful and fulfilling like some volunteer work, assuming they arent busy with career and family.

  • I know now how I am going to have my child go to Harvard - if she doesn't have a medical condition I will pay a doctor to say she does or just tell the school she has really bad PMS and needs to be homeschooled by people who will give her A's and long periods of extended time (all those cramps and everything). I will then use my legal skills to set up sham charities that she will be "executive director" of so she has hours of charity and leadership to claim. Every step she takes will be counted as "exercise" to get the congressional honor. I will write my daughters exams and book reports and not let her take a class that gives her less than a 5.0 out of 4.0. I will give my daughter books written by famous people, such as Gandhi, Aristotle, Plato, Justice O'Connor, Einstein, and Jesus Christ (new testament) to plagiarize in newspaper articles she writes and wins awards for. Everyone will think shes smart and give her tens of thousands to go to Harvard. What a plan. Cheaters and liars shouldn't win!
