WHEREAS, Bob Barr is the first mainstream candidate ever to receive the Presidential nomination of the Libertarian Party;
WHEREAS, mainstream politicians bring credibility to the table; while inflexible, impractical, ideologically pure candidates are simply perfectionists living in a utopian dream world;
WHEREAS, the ideological pureness of the Libertarian Party has long isolated mainstream Americans as well as opponents of abortion, illegal immigration, environmental degradation, and other essential issues;
WHEREAS, the Bob Barr presidential campaign is transforming the Libertarian Party from an ineffective, politically irrelevant educational organization into a modern, goal-oriented political action organization; by garnering millions of dollars in free media exposure, fighting unjust and restrictive campaign laws with litigation, planning TV and radio media buys in key states, and aggressively campaigning to advance the liberty agenda;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Undersigned, unashamedly applaud and enthusiastically support the newfound practicality of the Libertarian Party and unapologetically back its nominee for President of the United States, Bob Barr.

- I still have some reservations about Bob Barr but we have a really good chance here to no longer be dismissed as a bunch of wackos and kooks.

- Ron Paul did a great injustice to the cause of liberty - by promoting socialists in the same breath as a libertarian, it is Ron Paul I am upset with, not Bob Barr.

- If Bob weren't such a political weenie who's afraid of the party that nominated him, we may have had a candidate. Compromising on the issues is why he can't buy support.
