This is a petition, circulated to demonstrate how much bots affect the Battle.net Community. Not only do they assist clans in helping to maintain the channels, but they help people that simply don't feel like loading up one of your bulky programs to keep in touch with the Battle.net community.

Bots are also useful with the older games for keeping track of gamers scores, since Battle.net offers no support to stats tracking on any game other than Warcraft 3. They assist users in chatting in the chat channels on Battle.net, and assist users in moderating their clan and Op channels amidst the servers.

So please, this petition is to ask that you openly accept 'bots' instead of rejecting them, this is to ask, that you maybe even offer support to developers, to help to build better moderation/chat bots all around Battle.net. This could help your community drastically.

    • I fully agree. I use Bots 24/7. I never load any of your programs because they all wont work now. It is literally impossible to moderate a channel with just the Client. Try banning a 700+ Load on WAR3 Client. Might take you days. I have heard often enough that you will not get into private channel disputes. Private channel disputes?! Those disputes are mostly what bring down your servers. With 10 people loading 500+ Bots at the the same time? Come on. And you slanderize the people who try to keeo our channels safe from those malcious "warrers". Please, open your horizons and let us game and chat in peace.

    • Please leave bots in the Bnet community, I personally use them to help moderate my clan channel, and keep flooders/loaders/spammers at bay. If you ban bots, you only hurt the people who use them for good. People who use them to be asses will still find a way to get around any ban.

    • If this is what I think it is then I want to sign. I think you need to have a valid CD key to log your bot in to prevent 99999999 bots spamming bnet at all times. If you are required to by a CD key people won't pay $300 so they can have 8 bots...they will pay $40 or lower for 1 which is plenty to mod a channel.

    • I agree, although some people can abuse the bots, they have a lot of good uses and should not be banned completely. Blizzard should simply crack down on those who use the bots for spamming and such.

    • it would be nice if we were able to load blizzard approved bots without cdkeys. Bots, can (and have) be(en) used to improve bnet. they help alot in keeping tabs on theyre channels. Although spamming blocks have been improved, spamming is still possible. bots can help bnet users keep this kind of people out of their channels. It can also help keep hackers and people who have nothing better to do but cause problems out of our community. Please take this petition into great consideration
