The Iranian Football Federation has remained silent in regards to suggestions that Iran's head coach Mr. Branko Ivankovic will be changed before the World Cup 2006 in Germany. Mr. Ivankovic has been with the Iranian National team for a long time and has brought us to the point that we are today. He has managed the team in a very successful way and not only has he helped the Iranian National Team get to the World Cup, but he has also made this team one of the best Iran has ever seen to the point where in the latest FIFA world ranking (link http://www.fifa.com/en/mens/statistics/index/0,2548,All-Jun-2005,00.html) Iran has gained the 17th position for itself. A position that has been given to Iran under the watch of a coach whom has given results and worked hard for the team like none before.

Because of these reasons, we, the Iranian football fans from across the globe would like to ask the Iranian Football Federation not to change this familiar face in Iranian football and keep him as was planned at least till the end of the World Cup 2006 competitions.

With hopes of great accomplishments ahead for our beloved National Team,

    • Ivankivich is the best coach we ever had. It is the IFF that should be replaced with proper people instead of monkies that are there now

    • I don't know what Branko said that got so under IFF's skin, but this clearly has to be an act of retaliation -- becase there is no one better than Branko right now. Don't take your selfish anger on mother Iran. If your honor has been hurt, be a man and confront Branko and do what is best for Iran. Don't cowardly fire him, and punish your mother country for it! Iran needs Branko more than anybody else right now!!!

    • Keep Mr Ivankovic he has proved himself to the Iranian community that he is worthy of the job through the result of the Iranian national team, for the first time Iran is playing top quality football. Please dont take his job away it will be very hard to find a coach as dedicated and effective as he as been.

    • Why replace a successful well liked coach just because self appointed experts think that he is not doing the job. These people do not like any one and will find fault with any coach unless he is one of their useless friends. Remember those who are criticizing Mr. Ivankovic are part of the same group that have not had any success in coaching and have set our football back many years through their idiotic actions.

    • What the heck are they thinking. If it's not broken don't fix it. Another example of lack of intelligence in the Iran football federation!

    • Mr. Ivankovic has done a superb job coaching the national team. He has brought results, and can lead us through the world cup finals just fine. Let us not lose him through all the political means of the IFF.

    • How can we have a man lead us to the World Cup, then just kick him on the curb. Why should somebody else work on the foundation which he has built? It disgusts me that the IFF is even considering such a thing.
