This petition is being written in response to a commercial created by Burger King Corporation and Nickelodeon featuring Spongebob Squarepants.

The suggestive nature of the commercial is completely unacceptable to be aired on television for children to see. While it is my understanding that Burger King has claimed the ad was designed for adults, it's very apparent that Spongebob is a character/cartoon created for children, as are Burger King Kids Meals that are being advertised in this commercial.

It is understood that the song in the commercial was a spoof of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" song, which is clearly a highly sexual song. In the Burger King/Nickeloden version, the lyrics have been changed to "I like square butts...", which by itself is inappropriate.

In addition, the sexual nature of the women featured in the video is repulsive, and should not be taken lightly.

We, the undersigned, are expressing our discontent and disgust with this commercial and it's contents. We are also expressing our wish for the commercial to be pulled from television due to is suggestive and sexual nature.

    • This commercial with sexual undertones is completely unacceptable. The commerical itself is reminscient of R&B hip hop videos that clearly exploit women.
